Escrow Assistant Job Description

Location: Llano, Texas

Onsite or Remote: Onsite

Full-Time Position: Monday thru Friday, Hrs- 8-5 with 1 hr lunch break

Job Description:

It is the responsibility of the Escrow Assistant to properly open a file and prepare a file for the title search.  After a commitment has been completed, then the Escrow Assistant works the file to get it cleared to close.  After the file has been closed, then the Escrow Assistant will update the file so that it is ready for issuance of the policy. This position requires someone that can balance the fast-paced deadlines with making sure that the tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

The successful applicant is someone that welcomes continuous on-the-job learning and education that can result in increased responsibilities and development into an Escrow Agent.  You will be trained by an owner of the company, who is also our in-house attorney and Sr. Escrow Agent.

This is a full-time position with standard operating hours from 8:00 to 5:00 with a one-hour lunch.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an extremely high level of confidentiality regarding all information handled
  • Interact with buyers, sellers, attorneys, realtors, lenders, insurance companies, and others
  • Prepare letters, documents, emails, and other correspondence at a professional level
  • Learn and perform data entry in title industry software
  • Perform a wide range of administrative duties to gather information and assist in the escrow process
  • Manage pre-closing processes, ensuring all information is accurate and matches the original purchase contract (e.g., property address, zip codes, the spelling of names, marital status of buyers, ready surveys for possible encroachments, etc.)
  • Perform post-closing processes, ensuring all information is accurate and matches the closing documentation, and prepare files for issuance of policy
  • Willing to obtain courthouse records and request property tax records
  • Prepare and ship closing packages after ensuring that each package is complete
  • Perform all other duties as requested or assigned

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a prior history of professional communication and customer service and a demonstrated level of professionalism in a similar job (banking assistant, medical office, insurance office, professional waiter/waitress, etc.)
  • We will check references from previous employers, so permission to contact them will be required.
  • Strong Organization Skills
  • Strong Knowledge of MS Office Suite, mainly Word
  • Pass a Background Check
  • Pass a Drug Test
  • Pass a Competency Skills test. THIS TEST IS NOT ABOUT TITLE KNOWLEDGE.  It will evaluate job readiness skills such as verbal and math comprehension, typing, data entry, basic computer literacy, and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to always maintain a positive service attitude.

Preferred Requirements

  • Associates, Bachelor, or some kind of demonstration of continued education applicable to the Escrow Assistant position. Certifications of any kind will be considered if they add to the qualification of the Applicant.

Who We Are

  • Packsaddle Title Co. is a locally owned and operated full-service title company. While the company is relatively new, starting in April of 2022, the staff is certainly not new to the title business. We have two Escrow Agents, one of which is also our in-house attorney and an owner of the company.  Both owners work in the company.  Our early success is causing growing demand that requires us to add to our talented team.

Salary and Other Compensation

  • Salary plus Performance Bonuses will range between $50,000 and $60,000 depending on the qualifications of the applicant. The successful applicant will start at $50,000 for a 3-month probationary period and then will reset to the agreed-upon salary made with the offer.
  • Scheduled Holidays are paid
  • Personal/Sick Days are paid
  • One week of vacation time off is available without pay in the first year, then paid in the second year.
  • There is no other compensation, such as 401K or health insurance, offered at this time.
